Barcelona City

Some of the most bizarre and captivating architecture in the whole world belongs to Barcelona – you can’t avoid it, it’s everywhere. It’s a brilliantly fun city, with bars, tavernas and amazing tapas everywhere you turn; Barcelona really is a fun city to spend a bit of time in.

Must see sights Sagrada Familia Designed by the world famous architect Antonio Gaudi, the Sagrada Familia has been voted the number one tourist attraction in all of Barcelona. It is a stunning and almost gothic-looking temple which reaches high into the sky. This magnificent building has been under construction since the 1800s and they still have at least another 30 years worth of work to do to it – can you imagine? L’Aquarium De Barcelona The second most popular attraction in Barcelona is the aquarium. We’ve all been to hundreds of them in our lifetime but when you’re somewhere different there is always some strange urge to go and see if their fish are different from yours. This aquarium will answer all your marine-related questions and more. Spanish Village No, not just any village in Spain, this place is actually called the Spanish Village. It is a small village and each section represents different building styles throughout the years from all over Spain. It’s kind of like a real-life version of Legoland just with a lot more character – and buildings that aren’t made out of Lego, obviously. Barcelona FC Museum One for the lads – well, we aren’t ignore you completely can we? The Barcelona FC museum is actually really quite interesting – you can learn all about the history of one of the world’s most well known and successful football teams. Places to eat and stay Cafe Zurich Ok so the food isn’t five-star but the location cannot be beaten – this is probably the most hectic, fascinating and downright crazy part of Barcelona and Cafe Zurich is slap-bang in the middle of it. Bar Celta This place has every kind of sea creature imaginable on offer and it is all delicious and fresh. Well worth a visit. Casa Amelia Heart home cooking – Catalan style. If you’ve had a few too many the night before this place will make you feel better; it’s like going home to your mums for dinner – just a bit more Spanishy. H10 Raco Del Pi This hotel is oh-so stylish and is carved out of a beautiful chic building with a hint of that gothic architecture that is found all over Barcelona. Axel Hotel & Spa At the opposite end of the scale we have this modern beauty to keep all you massage buffs happy. The spa in this place is second to none and it’s just what you need after a long day of being a tourist.
