ANA posted record net-profit, while its rival JAL recorded a slip in profits

All Nippon Airways posted a record net profit for fiscal year ended in March 2017. The Japanese Airline reported its largest-ever net profit of 143.9 billion yen ($1.3 billion), up 45.6 percent from the previous year.

The airline recorded strong earnings for the third consecutive year while its rival Japan Airlines’s (JAL) profit fell 17.5 percent to 135.4 billion yen.

ANA’s operating profit rose 13.0 percent to 164.5 billion yen as revenue grew 11.7 percent to 1.97 trillion yen.

However, Airline warned the shareholders to expect 29 percent slip to 102 billion yen for the year 2018 ending in March 2019 as the company is said to step up investment for the future.
