Jet Airways to remove first class on its 10 Boeing 777-300ERs

Jet Airways said to remove first class cabin and replace it with business and economy seats on 10 Boeing 777-300ERs. The reconfiguration of the cabin would increase its capacity up to 400 seats.

Presently, each of the Jet Airway’s Boeing 777-300ERs is configured with 8 seats in first class, 30 in premiere (business class) and 308 in economy, a total of 346 seats.

The airline says it would take 18 to 20 months reconfigure all of its 10 Boeing 777s without altering the leg room.

Jet’s CEO Vinay Dube said, “We will densify our 777s.. and ..The 737 NGs will be returned after end of the lease, and will be replaced by the brand new MAX, whose delivery will extend till 2025-26″.

“Today, we have 80 plus narrow body 737s. Six years from now, we will have a 150 brand new Max aircraft flying.” the CEO added
