Sale period of Alitalia extended as it accrued a €160 million in losses

Italian senate today has voted in favour of a notion that extends the timeframe for the Alitalia sale process.

The voting moves the deadline to 31 October and renews until 15 December 2018.

According to senate spokesman , Alitalia accrued a €160 million in losses and the Government assured to provide €900 million ($1.04 billion) in term loan.

The airline is seeking for a potential buyer soon in order to avert bankruptcy.

The Airline is looking for an international partnership and repurchase slots at London Heathrow airport which were sold to Etihad when it was a stakeholder in Alitalia.
