Iberia has recently opened up a new recruitment process for cabin crew (tripulantes de cabina /TCP) to join its short and medium-haul fleet. The Spanish flag-carrier is accepting applications from both experienced and brand new cabin crew through its official recruitment website. As part of the International Airlines Group (IAG), the carrier has recently expanded its route network and timetable and is looking to recruit a number of new crew to operate on flights throughout Europe, as well as further afield. Iberia is Spain’s oldest and largest airline, formed back in 1927 and now transporting nearly 2 million passengers per month. Its all-Airbus fleet of over 100 aircraft is made up of single-aisle A319’s, A320’s and A321’s, as well as larger A330’s and the state-of-the-art A350. Iberia has announced a slew of new routes from its Madrid hub including services to Bergen and Verona, as well as Oslo and Paris Vatry. Last July, Iberia announced that Catalan designer, Teresa Helbig would create a new cabin crew uniform which she hopes will not only be “serene, sophisticated, and elegant” but also “functional”. No date has yet been set for when the final uniform design will be unveiled or when it will be rolled out. As part of Iberia’s campaign to attract new cabin crew, the airline has recently shared a video of five new joiners who have spoken of their experience with the airline. Along with already having the legal right to live and work in the European Union (EU), candidates must also meet the following minimum criteria: Minimum education to Baccalaureate standard or equivalent Fluent in Spanish and proficient in English Minimum height of 164cm No criminal record Passport holder which allows unrestricted travel Successful candidates will be based in Madrid, although at present Iberia is only in a position to offer temporary contracts. These are likely to be upgraded to permanent contracts dependent on the airline’s success going forward.
