Aviation PLC repositions Thomas Cook Aircraft

Avation PLC has repossessed two Airbus A321 aircraft which were on lease to Thomas Cook Airlines. The company has said that the two aircraft will undergo routine calendar airframe maintenance checks. The aircraft will be marketed and delivered to another airline in due course. Thomas Cook went bust at the end of this month following its failure to gain extra funding needed to continue. Jeff Chatfield, executive chairman said: “Avation is pleased with the success of our technical team in quickly repossessing and repositioning the two aircraft previously operated by Thomas Cook. “These two Airbus A321 aircraft are relatively new at approximately 3.5 years old and in our view are in superb condition. They will be marketed globally in a state fresh from a 2C airframe check and we anticipate them being in high demand amongst airlines.”
