Emirates firmed an order for 50 Airbus A350-900s valued $16b at Dubai Airshow…

Airbus and Emirates Airline have signed a purchase agreement for 50 Airbus A350-900s at Dubai Airshow 2019, lifting the previous order of 30 jets. The aircraft powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines will commence delivery in May 2023. Earlier this year Emirates tentatively placed and order for 30 A350-900s and 40 A330-900s. At this airshow, Emirates lift the A350 orders from 30 to 50 and firmed it., but did not say anything about A330 order. “Complementing our A380s and 777s, the A350s will give us added operational flexibility in terms of capacity, range and deployment.” said the Emirates Chairman Sheikh Ahmed., and “We look forward to seeing the A350 flying in Emirates colours!” said Guillaume Faury, Airbus Chief Executive Officer.
