The New Airport Terminal was officially opened in Muscat, Oman

The brand new Muscat International Airport terminal was officially opened on 20 March 2018. The Oman’s new terminal has 86 check-in counters, 40 gates, and 29 aircraft stands to handle 40 flights per hour. 


The first flight is scheduled to departed at 6:50pm, while the first arrival is slated for 5:30pm on 20th March.


The new passenger terminal covering a total area of 580,000 square metres and is equipped with the latest technology and state-of-the-art facilities, put the airport among the top 20 airports in the world

The terminal incorporates biometric smart technology, integrated security process, boarding bridges, and over 7,000 car shaded parking spaces, sensor-programmed lights, automated flush for waste management and utilising energy saving devices.


The terminal also designed to accomodate airplanes like Airbus A380 and Boeing 777x,
