Sydney City

The harbour in Sydney is probably one of the most well known landmarks in the world; with the Sydney harbour bridge and the breath taking architecture of the Opera House you have plenty to look at.

For a costly sum of around 500 AUD (about 350 GBP) you can strap yourself into a safety harness and scale the Sydney harbour bridge yourself; it’s an awesome thing to do if you have the money, it does take a little strength but with qualified instructors everywhere you look and more harnesses than you can shake a stick at, it isn’t a scary experience.

If you walk along the harbour front in round to the Opera House you will get a brilliant photo opportunity; with the bridge in the background and the Opera House standing proud at the front you can snap away to your heart’s delight.

There is a beautiful park here too; late in the afternoon take a walk round and relax on the bank; at sunset you get beautiful views across the harbour and the Opera House and bridge are lit up in all different colours.

Inner City

If you fancy taking in the sights of inner Sydney then just head north of the harbour; you’ll soon find yourself in the hustle and bustle of city life. There’s plenty of retail therapy to be had here as well; check out Cotton On for some brilliant high street bargains. This shop is exclusive to New Zealand, Australia and the USA so stock up while you’re there!

It’s not all just shops though; some of the buildings in Sydney are pretty amazing to look at, and there’s an abundance of fun Aussie bars to try out whilst your there.
Places to eat

Everywhere you turn in Sydney you will see restaurants and bars so you won’t suffer through lack of choice. For a picturesque meal though, head back to the harbour, at night the harbour really is beautiful and restaurants and bars line the front and they cater for all budgets, so whether you fancy a modest pack of fish and ships or an a la carte three course meal, do it in style at the harbour.
