Perth’s wonderful weather, beautiful beaches and an easy-going character makes it the perfect location for a layover holiday. It combines big-city attractions and relaxed, informal surrounds, providing an appealing lifestyle for locals and lots to do for visitors. Here is a quick guide for cabin crew to explore this wonderful city.

What to do in Perth for 24h – 48h?

Getting around in Perth

Rottnest Island

Rottnest Island is blessed with a casual atmosphere, picturesque scenery, dazzling marine life and some of the world’s finest beaches and pristine bays. If the weather is warm enough, you can also go snorkelling or just relax on the beach.

Perth Zoo

Ever wanted to immerse yourself in the Aussie outback but have Asia’s stunning rainforests and Africa’s wild savannah right around the corner? Perth Zoo, with over 1500 animals and some of the most beautiful gardens in Western Australia, is your ultimate day out.

Fremantle

If your are tired of jetsetting between cities, Fremantle is just the place for you! Just 30 minutes from Perth, the bustling, dynamic port city of Fremantle has long been renowned for its eclectic mix of arty and alternative type.

WOC travel tip: Make sure you go to the Little Creatures Brewery, they make some of the most delicious beer and cider.

Kings Park

This is one of the largest inner city parks in the world and showcases an outstanding collection of Western Australian flora and is a popular place for picnics, walks and cultural events.

Where to eat and relax in Perth?

Low-lit, discreet and sophisticated, with a charming staff, Balthazar has an informal, cool vibe that’s matched by exquisite food and a famously excellent wine list. The menu is refreshingly original, combining European flavours with an intensely local and seasonal focus.

This restaurant offers Mediterranean- and North African–influenced cuisine partners with a good wine list, craft beers and artisan ciders. The flatbread taco crammed with softshell crab, zingy pickles and red-pepper aioli is a must try.

Visit Northbridge to have some fun in some of the best bars and night clubs in Western Australia. There are also a range of cafes, restaurants and cultural experiences like galleries and museums to choose from.

It has one of the largest gin selection in Perth. Check out Mechanics Institute Bar which is just near PICA and the Art Gallery.
