United Airlines 767-300ER reported engine failure soon after takeoff and returned to Franz Josef Strauss Airport

United Airlines flight UA31 made and emergency landing at Franz Josef Strauss Airport, Munich, Germany after engine failure soon after takeoff on 30 May 2018


The United Boeing 767-300ER, bound for Newark-Liberty International Airport,USA, took off at 10:06 hours local time from Franz Josef Strauss Airport, Germany. A passenger reported hearing a ‘loud bang’ in six minutes into flight and the aircraft returned and landed safely on runway 26R at 10:29 hours.

The passengers were disembarked safely while the ground emergency services crew attended the aircraft,
